Chez Bertrand
The fully modernised old French house and barn has 2 double bedded rooms, 2 twin bedrooms, cot, bathroom with shower and bath, an additional shower room, bidet and 2 separate toilets. The sitting room is comfortable with an open fireplace and exposed beams. The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, hob, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave and there is a utility room with washing machine, iron and board. Video, DVD, stereo, games, toys and there is a profusion of books for children and adults. It has Full central Heating. Bed linens and towels are provided and there is a cleaning service included forthose staying for more than one week.

A 10 x 5 metre swimming pool is shared by visitors staying in the two houses.. The house ha a garden, patio and ample shaded car parking.

Maison Cage is a fully modernised, comfortable three bedroom village house which sleeps up to 6, with 2 double bedrooms and a twin bedded room. A fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave. Utility room with washing machine, iron and board. Full central heating and wood burning stove. Large bathroom with bath and shower, 2 separate toilets.
A cleaning service is included for those staying for more than one week. Linens supplied.

Maison Cage terrace and garden



The houses are situated in a working village. The village of Beauchalot has a church and ancient bell tower, which is a historic monument.

The villagers work the land, keep hens and livestock and grow their own produce. The neighbours are very welcoming and offer an insight into an unchanged and intriguing French culture. Fresh eggs can be purchased from the neighbours.
of the Roman walls and fortifications can still be found scattered about the village. A Boulangerie and a Routier restaurant are just a short walk away.
There are stunning views of the Pyrenees, which are 20 minutes away: skiing facilities can be reached in about 40 minutes.

There are local walks down to the river Garonne as well as more strenuous rambling in the foothills and higher peaks. Rafting and adventure activities are available about half an hour’s drive away. St Gaudens with market, shops and general facilities is 5 miles distant. There are a number of local markets each week.
Local restaurants offer the cuisine of the region as well as more international fare. The hilltop bastide village of St Bertrand, with its Roman remains and cathedral are a short drive into the foothills. St Bertrand is an important venue on the Jacques de Compostella route.
The Pic du Midi with cable car and observatory offers dramatic views of the mountains. Carcassonne, Pau, Biarritz, Lourdes and the Med are all easily accessible.
Luchon, known as the Queen of the Pyrenees is 40 minutes away and is an interesting spa town.

The Comminges area is relatively undeveloped and very French: tourists are as yet mostly unaware of the attractions of the area. Don't give the secret away! Come and enjoy – a warm welcome awaits.
